Finally...A Title!!!

Okay, so Tricoup and I are starting up a podcast. After several days of debate over a title, we've finally come to a conclusion that encompasses our potpourri of ideas. Alas...we are: "In Transit: Two Triathletes take on the World." Eh, eh, what do you think??? Good huh?? We love it! It's going to be about tri's, of course, but also about other things going on in our lives, like travel, sports, adventures, etc. We recorded our first cast during our brick on Wednesday. It turned out pretty good I think. We have to work on some technical issues and hardware but we're getting it down pretty well.

Speaking of our brick. It went really well. An easy 25 miler on the bike and a 20 minute run. I was still feeling pretty good at the end of the run, so that's great news. I love that jello-like feeling in the transition from bike to ground. If you've ever done that transition, you know what I'm talking about. Ah, it's good to be in training!! I'm still feeling pumped!! This weekend I have a bike rally then I plan on open water swimming if we're allowed in the lake this early in the season. The rally should be a lot of fun!! Okay, I'll catch you on the flip side. I'm off...

One brick at a time

Yeah Baby!! I completed my first brick!! It was hard but I'm so glad that I did it. It was nice being able to flop around in the pool in semi-privacy. I decided at the last minute to not time myself and just make my goal a completion rather than a time. So, that's what I did. I didn't kill myself but I pushed myself. And the run was a nice little folow up. Overall a good workout. I felt powerful.

Tonight is my second brick; my first with Tricoup. We are tossing around the idea of starting a podcast soon. We need to think of a cool, catchy name though. Any suggestions?? Tonight during our workout, we are going to attempt to record something. We're excited and I think it'll give our workouts a new twist of excitment. I'll let you know how it goes.

Brick it up...

Okay, so here it is, two weeks until my first tri of the season and I have yet to enter the pool. I'm avoiding my mortal enemy, my personal foe, the water. I had a 5K race last Sunday and my time totally sucked. If anything, my running is my best sport, but it seems as if I'm just walking along lately. It might have something to do with the fact that I'm down-right neglecting my training schedule. Yeah, I think that is it. Anyway, I'm doing a brick workout tonight and one tomorrow with Tricoup. 800M swim/25 minute run tonight and 25 mile bike/ 20 minute run tomorrow. I'm still pumped which is a good thing!! I just have to, have to, have to get in the water, ASAP. I'm off...

My Renaissance

I completed my first olympic triathlon last October and have been pretty idle since. I have a terrible tendency to go, go, go, complete my goal, and crash...hard. I've ran a few races since then but I haven't been stoked about it for some time now. By the suggestion of my friend "Tricoup", I've been listening to podcasts to lift my morale. My motivation has actually increased and I'm back on the road and in the pool. And let me tell you, the pool is my worst enemy. I'm not the best speed swimmer as I'm sure my blogs will allude. So, I'm starting this blog with the hope that I will keep my motivation going. Here goes... Wish me luck... I'm off....
